Black and White Limited Edition Prints S/N
Once an edition is sold out, the negative/file is retired and no more original prints are made, apart from book and folio publishing. Prints are signed, titled and numbered.
Print Process
Limited Edition prints are hand made by Tony Hertz with an archival pigment process on heavy weight fine art exhibition fiber paper. My workflow is much the same as traditional darkroom printing. I use density, contrast and dodging and burning, often in great detail to make the print look as natural as possible so that it expresses what I see and feel.
I often use a 4X5 / 8X10 aspect ratio when composing and printing. I feel this facet lends to a more fluid balance and increases compositional opportunities in vertical and horizontal scenes.
