The Nine Sisters are an ancient chain of volcanic peaks that stretch in a rare alignment of hills from San Luis Obispo to Morro Bay, California. The craggy mountains rose from the ocean over 20 million years ago and were formed from the plugs of long-extinct volcanoes.
